Psalms · Chapter 1

The two ways

Pick a verse to see what the church has said about it. In Balanced, tap a word for its Hebrew.

1How blessed is the one who does not walk by the advice of the wicked, or stand on the path that sinners tread, or sit where mockers gather! 2Instead, the instruction of the LORD is their delight, and they recite it quietly to themselves day and night. 3That person is like a tree set out beside channels of water, which bears its fruit when its season comes, and whose leaves never dry up. Whatever they do turns out well. 4The wicked are nothing like that. They are like chaff, scattered by the wind. 5That is why the wicked will not stand firm when judgment comes, and sinners will have no place in the gathering of the righteous. 6For the LORD knows the path of the righteous and cares for it, but the path of the wicked ends in ruin.
